To fulfill its educational mission of developing students, teachers, and researchers as scholars and role models, the ERC’s educational activities are targeted at five communities:
- K-12
- Community Colleges
- Undergraduates
- Graduates
- Practitioners
The CISST ERC has developed educational programs for each of these communities that focus on providing unique opportunities for women and minorities and highlight career paths in biomedical, electrical and computer engineering, computer science, and other related fields.
To further strengthen the alignment of the research and educational missions of the Center, we have launched several initiatives designed to foster innovative course dissemination, increase minority participation, encourage pre-college outreach in engineering, and continue diverse programs for teachers and undergraduates from other universities. The Center’s education team also has focused on creating effective collaborations with its partners and their students.
